We have openings for Technical Specialist based in Chennai, India. The Technical Specialist responsibilities will include:

Position: Technical Specialist (Algorithms/Computational Geometry) (Job opening ID: #110987)

Location: Chennai, India

Responsibilities:

This role entails the architecture, design and implementation of solutions for manipulating the physical layout of semiconductor chips specified in GDS and OASIS format.

Person shall be the solution architect innovating next generation algorithms involving large complex data structures and manipulating them.

The job involves identifying bottlenecks in existing algorithms and optimizing them for performance and memory.

The job shall involves collaboration across multiple geographical locations, converging championing these improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Sound knowledge and expertise in data structures and C.
• Hands on experience in C++ coding.
• Shall have industry experience in design and implementation of solutions dealing with large data, especially involving computational geometry of polygon shapes.
• Experience in devising algorithms that identify similar polygons, partially matching polygons, converting image to polygon are a plus.
• Shall have experience in writing these algorithms as well as optimizing them for high performance and scalability.
• Ability to write distributed applications and multi-threaded code is a desired qualification but not mandatory.
• Knowledge on Lithography, semiconductor EDA software development will be a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Engineering or Mathematics discipline.
• Experienced with any scripting or programming language in the UNIX environment
• Exposure to EDA scripting languages like TCL.
• Sound knowledge on Lithography domain – OPC, Simulations, verifications, design rules, GDS and OASIS files.
• Requires very good communication skills, inter personnel skills and leadership skills
• Required to work with cross functional groups to extract requirements and map them to a software design.
