Job Description:
We have openings for Senior Systems Software Engineer based in Chennai, India. The Senior System Software Engineers’ responsibilities will include:
The individual is expected to have a strong experience in design and development of firmware for FPGA/DSP. The candidate will also participate in characterization of sensors and digital converters.
Following the KLA-Tencor Product Lifecycle methods, the candidate will be required to participate in all phases of the requirements, design, and development for subsystems and development/maintain of critical system control firmware.
The responsibilities of successful candidate as listed below:
- Will primarily develop FPGA/DSP firmware for image sensor and control subsystems
- Will handle enhancements for existing firmware
- Will interact/collaborate with multidisciplinary global teams to ensure compatibility between hardware amp; software, analyze system level impact
- Will help in characterizing image sensors
- Will travel to customer/vendor sites when required for support and collaboration
The candidate should have an MS/ M.Tech/PhD in EE, Instrumentation Engg., or a related discipline with at least 6+ years of experience in developing FPGA/DSP firmware for Control system and Signal Processing applications.
Requirements:
- Expertise in developing software/firmware for DSP platforms
- Expertise in FPGA firmware design/develop/synthesis
- Expertise in C development on the Windows platform
- Strong EE background (either is an EE who is proficient in programming, or is a programmer who understands electronics very well primarily digital electronics).
- Must be able to read electronic schematics and able to use basic electronics instruments; e.g. digital multimeter, oscilloscope
- Hands-on knowledge on machine control, signal processing(FFT/DFT)
- Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Candidates should be familiar with fast prototyping, and low-level system control.
- Experience with TI DSP and Altera FPGA
- Experience with Sensor such as high performance CCDs, photo diodes
- Experience in using LabVIEW, Python scripting, and Matlab
- Experience in OOD/C++
- Prior experience on real time imaging systems a definite plus
