We are seeking Associate Lead - Software Testing for a position based in Chennai, who will work in a Challenging and Innovative environment at our Wafer Inspection Division with highly integrated multi-disciplinary team and whose responsibilities will include:

Position: Associate Lead – Software Manual Testing (Job opening ID: #109999)

Location: Chennai, India

KLA-Tencor has an opening for an Associate Software Test Engineer for our SFS Division. SFS provide bare wafer inspection tools with high sensitivity amp; throughput (wafers per hours) that helps reduce cost of ownership and find killer defects very early.

The Role:

• Responsibilities include full participation in the software development life cycle to stablish test scenarios for proving the functionality and robustness of the software created.
• Experience with large software systems /tool application are preferred.
• Work with hardware and systems/application groups to understand system requirements and map them to a software testing needs.
• Participate in all stages of software development including deployment/trouble shooting at customer sites.
• Should be willing to travel to customer sites as well as work during day and graveyard shift on a rotational basis.
• Ability to technically interact with Algorithms, System Engineering, Application Engineering, Marketing and Manufacturing, Customer Support team for various needs across the globe.
• Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against and/or process requirements.
• Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
• Performs or co-ordinates verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
• Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures.
• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable quality standards.
• Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements.
• Responsible for developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for company products.
• Develops and executes software test plans. Analysis and writes test standards and procedures.
• Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
• Analyse test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action

Qualifications/Education Desired:

1. Should work with Software Development team to develop and execute testing strategies including test records maintenance.

2. Review software design, change specifications, and plans and create/update test strategies based on these.

3. Ability to technically interact and work with other engineering disciplines like Algorithms, System Engineering, Application Engineering and Manufacturing and ensure relevant usecase requirements are adequately covered in SW test plans.

4. Should prepare software test schedule, allocate/manage resources, track and do management reporting.

5. Should be willing to travel to USA offices and customer locations across world on short term basis for training and project needs

6. Ensure Software Standards and Processes are complied within the team and initiate continuous Improvements based improvements

7. Good Communication, Inter personnel skills and Team co-ordination skills required

8. Understand all phases of software testing and quality control

9. Quick learner, problem analysis and solving ability are essential.
